Athens Alzheimer Association
Athens Alzheimer Association is a non-profit organization founded in 2002 by people with dementia, their relatives and health care professionals involved with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. The aim of the Association is to inform and raise public awareness, to promote the quality of life and to defend the rights of people with dementia and their families and to mobilize the State in order to make dementia a priority for Public Health. Today the Association has 5,500 members and 55 active volunteers and employs 60 employees. It operates 4 Day Centers for people with dementia (Pagrati – Ampelokipi – Maroussi – Ilioupoli) and the service “Home Care for people with dementia”.
