In April 2023, the Greek Patients’ Association created the website, where the 14 patients’ rights, as mentioned in the European Charter of Patients’ Rights are described in a simple manner.

The European Charter of Patients’ Rights, was drawn up by the Active Citizens Network with the collaboration of 12 other European organisations in 2002, and proclaims fourteen (14) fundamental patients’ rights, which aim to guarantee a “high level of human health protection” for all citizens, in accordance with Article 35 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, and to ensure a high quality of services provided by national health institutions in Europe.

The website, which was designed by lawyers and communication executives in cooperation with patients and caregivers, informs the visitor about the 14 fundamental patients’ rights, as they apply in Greece, along with explanatory videos in Greek. The website and the videos were presented at the Association’s event on the occasion of the European Patients’ Rights Day, which was held under the auspices of the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou.
