Theofania Tsachalina was born in Thessaloniki in 1967. She is a mother of a child with T1 Diabetes Mellitus and president since 2016 with active involvement in awareness, management, and education about T1 Diabetes Mellitus. She is a Professor of Physical Education and Sports with a Master’s degree in Exercise Science, Nutrition, and Health from the University of Bristol, England. Holder of a Master’s degree in Nursing from the Alexandria Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, Greece, entitled “Care in Diabetes Mellitus”. She has been elected Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Diabetes Federation while being responsible for the Committees of Education, Health, and Labour. She is a member of the American Diabetes Association and the American College of Sports Medicine. Theofania Tsachalina has participated in many Conferences and Educational Workshops in Greece and abroad on Exercise, Nutrition, and Diabetes mellitus. She is currently a Patient Advisor at the Health Outcomes Observatory on T1 Diabetes Mellitus and she has been registered with the European Medicines Agency (EMA) as an expert. Finally, she has been elected as General Secretary at the Rare Diseases Greece.
She speaks English, French, Serbian, Croatian and Serbian.
